CubicleGM (cubiclegm [at] cubiclegm dot com)

The CubicleGM wakes up, showers, saunters in a few minutes late, and digs in every day to the latest news in sports.  CubicleGM, however, doesn’t simply keep you up-to-date; it engages you from your cubicle in an ongoing discourse on the experience of fandom.  We bring a new approach to sports analysis, recognizing that with the news and numbers in front of you, anyone can be an expert.  The mission of CubicleGM is to engage with all contributors and readers for a collaborative discussion on roster decisions, waiver wire pickups and even the almighty 11th-hour trade.

Gideon Taub (gideon [at] cubiclegm dot com) – Real World Start-Up Entrepreneur

Plain and simply, Gideon likes to analytically and objectively think about sports.  Whether breaking down how players are valued based on the rules of a given fantasy league or how different sports leagues regulate themselves (with an impact on salaries and franchise values), Gideon pours a few observations and some number crunching into his proverbial sports blender to provide thought-provoking and fairly entertaining posts every now and then.  No promises, but a run-on sentence may even appear with some regularity if you read with some regularity.

Jacob Nitzberg (jacob [at] cubiclegm dot com) – Not Ready for the Real World

Jacob Nitzberg is a diehard Chicago Cubs fan, which should tell you all you need to know about him. Jacob was born, raised and currently lives in the Chicago area, and supports all teams whose names do not end in the letter “X”.  If he is not watching, playing, talking, reading or writing about sports, then he’s probably asleep. Some of his greatest achievements include attending a Bears home playoff victory, a Bulls NBA Finals Game, watching the Cubs clinch the division in person, and hitting for the cycle at Wrigley Field (hot dog, brat, Italian and Polish sausage in one game).

Walker Freer (walker [at] cubiclegm dot com) – Real World Journalist

Much like Tim Tebow, Colt McCoy, and Sam Bradford, Walker simply cannot get enough of college athletics. And thus, with limited trepidation, he’s announced his intentions to remain interminably true to college sports above their professional counterpart. Raised on a staple of mediocre Virginia teams and Redskins’ triumphs, he is now forced to relive past glory and as a fan, hope a better future exists. Walker currently lives in the heart of Redskins’ nation and occasionally passes his time suckling at the sports power teet at one of the few remaining profitable (or not?) newspapers in America.

Smokey Cloud (smokey [at] cubiclegm dot com) – Real World Assistant Editor

Smokey Cloud marinated in a smorgasbord of Southern delights for the majority of his formative years.  He was reared in dark arts of college sports, slow cooking, and twang. Allegiances to ACC basketball, SEC football and the Carolina Panthers were woven in the tautest of fashions.  After matriculating through the Piedmont of North Carolina, he chased the setting sun to a land devoid of logic, reason, and professional football: Hollywood.  There, he lies in wait, forever nurturing his wanton lust of entertainment in all its forms, until the time is right for him to unleash his unrivaled brilliance upon the greater globe.  Cherish his words, and his blog posts, for lightning of this sort is rarely captured in such a fine bottle as that of CubicleGM.

Mickey Cloud (mickey [at] cubiclegm dot com) – Real World Account Executive

The younger, more handsome brother of Smokey, Mickey brings his Charlotte Southern charm to his current abode, the bright lights of Manhattan.  Another former newspaper columnist, Mickey founded the Sports Brethren with Smokey in 2007 before joining forces at CubicleGM.  A passionate football, basketball, and entertainment fan, Mickey brings the noise and the funk on all things in the sporting world.

Joey Mancini (joey [at] cubiclegm dot com) – Real World Consultant

Until realizing last Friday that his shoulder was frayed and 40-time well over six seconds, Joey thought that he would undoubtedly be a professional baseball player.  A blinded Redskins fan and instant-replay-in-baseball hater, Joey previously wrote about sports in a place or two and used to be a sports talk radio show guy.  All that, of course, prior to a current occupation in Washington, DC and elsewhere that tethers him to a laptop.

And DormGM… Coming Soon.
