Couple days behind schedule, here, but I think still worth posting… I’ll blame it on Thursday night at some Irish bar drinking 250th anniversary Guinness and a Friday – Saturday suddenly filled with trips to various home-related stores and studying for the GMAT. It’s a sad state of affairs. Nonetheless, a few hours on a Sunday [...]

If anybody is still awake, word leaking out now, just after the midnight deadline, that No. 1 pick Stephen Strasburg has signed with the Nationals for $15.6M, the largest contract for a draftee in MLB history.

This Week on the Internets (10 August 2009)
Quite a bit more to talk about today than last week, which was primarily a discussion of Chad Gaudin with an intense Yankees fan for those of you who missed it. Enthralling. This week, plenty to discuss… I’m not quite sure exactly where to start.
On the internal side, a few important developments. First, you can [...]
Link: Live Blogging the PGA Championship
I really wish that we had the time today to “live blog” the first-round of the PGA Championship, but since it seems like none of us do, we’ll offer someone else who is. The best one out there today seems to be Jason Sobel, on ESPN. We hate to feed the beast, but you can’t [...]
This Week on the Internets (3 August 2009)
You’ll notice that it seems like half our staff is on vacation this week; I, myself, am sitting at the beach but feel compelled to send a few links during a relatively quiet week in sports. August slows much of the world down a bit, at least for the first two weeks or so. Don’t [...]
It Pains Me, Pat, But I Beg To Differ
There’s an NFC South blogger named Pat Yasinskas – no idea how to pronounce that – who has, with responsibilities for Buccaneers, Falcons, Panthers, and Saints, determined that he has eminent domain over Michael Vick banter on ESPN until he signs with another team. Pat cut his teeth with The Charlotte Observer before ESPN.
As a [...]
This Week On The Internets (20 July 2009)
So, I really do intend to post this every week. With my recent sabbatical now complete(d), my plan is to be with you each and every Friday, in addition to other diatribes in and about your weeks, recapping exactly what’s happened and possibly enlightening you to something here or elsewhere that you may have missed.
First, [...]
This Week on the Internets (for 22 June 2009)
I was told recently by my grandmother that “who needs the Internets, all that’s on there is porn and jokes”. Although this may far and away be the case – and quite the statement from a woman who doesn’t own a computer – I will attempt to politely differ and provide below what else worthwhile [...]
Do I Still Have My Amateur Eligibility?
I remember distinctly when I was in college having a long discussion with several friends about declaring for the NBA draft. We were just 18 years old, and prior to the new eligibility rules, well within the requirements to declare – if only we gave up our amateur status, and thus our college eligibility. [...]
