MLB Postseason Predictions – How’d We Do?

You might remember that the day before the MLB Playoffs, four of us here at the Cube made our predictions on each postseason series. Now that the postseason is over and the Yankees finally have a championship after eight long years of waiting, it’s time to see how we did.

Using the point system below that I just made up, I’ll determine which one of the four of us did the best job.

Division Series – 1 point for each winner, 1/2 bonus point for correct number of games (only if winner picked correctly)

Championship Series - 2 points for each winner, 1 bonus point for correct number of games

World Series – 4 points for each winner – 2 bonus points for correct number of games

World Series MVP – 2 bonus points

Division Series

Jacob – 2.5 points

Gideon – 1 point

Smokey – 3.5 points

Mickey – 3.5 points

The Cloud brothers take an early lead by picking 3 of 4 winners correctly

Championship Series

Jacob – 3 points

Gideon – 3 points

Smokey – 3 points

Mickey – 5 points

We all picked the Yankees in 6, but Mickey was the only one to correctly pick both World Series participants…kudos

World Series

Jacob – 4 points

Gideon – 0 points

Smokey – 4 points

Mickey – 6 points

Three of us picked the Yanks, but only Mickey got the number of games right too.  And none of us guessed Godzilla for MVP.

TOTALS

Jacob – 9.5 points

Gideon – 4 points

Smokey – 10.5 points

Mickey – 14.5 points

A dominant performance by Mickey, as his only flaw the entire way was choosing the Red Sox in the ALDS.  Congrats on winning a massive amount of pride.

We’ll check in with our regular season awards predicitions as the winners are announced.
