50 Days and 50 Nights

And now, an important message from our non-baseball related sponsors…the start of the college football season is just 50 days away – let the countdown begin.

While the rest of America was watching the All-Star game last night (yeah, Obama threw out the first pitch – big deal) I was busy celebrating the release of NCAA Football ‘10 by downing Natty Lights and participating in a six person tournament. I played with Oregon (yellow helmet and jersey, emerald pants) and dropped #1 Florida in the Swamp before falling at the hands of USC; Ohio State triumphed over USC in the final (note: Terrell Pryor is unfairly fast – 90 speed). Money exchanged hands,  manhood was challenged, and for one night in July college football occupied the forefront of my mind. As with any sports related video game series there are improvements, as well as setbacks, in this year’s version, but it’s still the cream of the crop for college football-heads like myself.

With the official start of summer two-a-days weeks away and only 50 days out from the season kickoff, there is finally a light at the end of the summer tunnel for college fanatics.
