Daunting Weeks Ahead: Beware the Ides of March

This post is a preview of upcoming posts from Cubicle GM and several guest authors over the next two weeks.

Coming up, keep your eye out (or double-check your RSS feed) for extended coverage on two very important topics:

  1. NCAA Tournament
  2. Fantasy Baseball Draft Breakdown

The former is an obvious pastime of Cubicle GMers across the US now made particularly time-consuming with live game feeds on CBS Sportsline. You could make the argument that this is outside the scope of our mission here at CubicleGM.com (and the tournament credentials department certainly did just that), but we personally believe the NCAA Tournament is certainly critical to work-time sports discussions and detailed analysis over your morning coffee. As such, we’ll provide a few thoughts and ask that you contribute yours, as well. Personally I’ve been laboring over the potential UNC-Oklahoma battle (If it even gets there… Syracuse? Clemson?) the entire day and have a number of points to throw out to everybody.

Our breakdown of topics relevant to Fantasy Baseball Drafts Everywhere times with the date of most pre-season drafts; as usual we will do it in a bit of a different style than most fantasy sports blogs or resources. We’ll simply be discussing our thoughts and analysis, and hope you (the reader) will join the discussion. Topics include Draft Day – Part II, Best/Worst Value Picks, Perspectives from a Fantasy Spouse, Sleepers and Prospects, and a number of others.

Looking several weeks ahead, at the beginning of April, we’ll also begin our annual commendation/bad-mouthing of the GMs and player personnel from every team in professional sports. Our first sport will be baseball, to coincide with Opening Day, gradually sequencing into football. We’ll breakdown your teams – all of them – by a common set of criteria, providing our recommended way forward were we ever to become a real-life GM (trades, Jerry… trades!) and plenty of ammo for anyone else who hates Vinny Cerrato.

Finally, a quick administrative note: We welcome guest posts at cubiclegm [@] cubiclegm dot com. Send them along with a bio and we’ll do our best to get them posted in a timely manner. Several we’ve already received will be posted this week.
